Phoenix Arizona under fire: 11 shootings in 10 days on the cities major freeway

Residents of Phoenix, AZ are having a much harder commute to work lately now that eleven shootings are being investigated. The shootings started on August 29, 2015 and have been reported in the past ten days along the I-10 freeway which runs across most of the city. The Department of Public Safety is also investigating two new possible shootings, one which involved a young woman who was traveling along the I-10, near 35th. The woman swears that she heard a single gunshot while driving in her open jeep on her way to ASU.

The shootings started on Saturday, August 29, when an SUV driving eastbound on I-10 was struck and a 13-year-old girl suffered a cut to her ear.

Nine vehicles in the past 10 days have been shot.

Minutes after the very first shooting which happened on August 29, a tour bus that was driving in the opposite direction on I-10 was also struck. The bus was empty except the driver.
